The Rise

 Gm was ounded in 1904 by Mchael Durant. The company is based in Cleveland Ohio. The manufacturing center is in Detroit Michigan. Gm was the fist to introduce power steering,power brakes,autmatic transmission and independent transmission. GM was the first to make changes in the body styles every year and offer a variety of prices.GM is know for Oldsmobile, chevrolets, pontiac, cadillac, and buicks. GM had a good relationship with its employee's offering good wages and benefits.

                     The Fall of GM

GM took on to much to fast and went into major debt. GMfailed to plan for the future. japan bet GM to the punch with ars like toyota's which was very fuel efficient. japan was GM;s biggest competitor. GM didnt took towards the future soon enough into improving fuel efficency such as hydrogen fuels,and more enconomical cars. An example of something more enconomial such as going from six cylinder cars to four cylinder cars. they failed into future advancement suck as aybe a moe efficient batter. with Japan's toyota being more economical americans started buying those and turnd way from GM. GM's sales stared to fal and losing profits. Labor request also contributed towards he fal of GM. for example, when GM went on strike they got 95% of their pay. GM would give into their request for better pay and better benefits to end the strike.

                     The future of GMe been made inelec

The company received government bailout money. GM apendt 100 million dollars in developing electrical cars, Was the bailout money repaid? No, hot in cash,The government took equity in the new company instead, GM invested in hybrids, ethanol cars, smaller more economucal cars and are now working on a new  battery.  investments have been made in electric cars,hyrids, ethanel cars and smaller gas saving models. going from 6 cylinders to 4cylinders. GM is preently working on a volt battery which is due to some out in years 2013.in  conclusion the land of opporhat as a countrtunity, we believe tha as a country we try to live the american dream. we also believe that companies do in their own way try to ge end company because greedy te in thive opport. we also believe the in the end company because greedy thinking about their personal profits and the profits of the company.
